Unpublic Brand Identity Design
After working together previously, Susan Boles reached out to me create a brand for her new business, Unpublic. Unpublic helps creators reduce digital exposure, so you can stay visible without putting your safety at risk.
I crafted a brand that visually combines the ideas of privacy and security, social media, and online culture, to speak directly to the people and issues Unpublic is targeting.

Unpublic’s mascot is a visual representation of the entire brand. He’s mysterious, private, and mostly hidden. Using him as the logo and as illustrations across the brand creates a recognisable identifier for the brand. He’s playful and fun, which brings some levity to the serious topics he represents and makes the entire brand feel approachable.

This brand identity uses a dark color palette and spacious layouts to create a minimal & mysterious atmosphere. Pops of vivid colors, bold typography and online culture-inspired icons balance that to keep things casual and inspiring. Everything is brought together with tongue-in-cheek copy that connects with creators.

The strong, simple color palette, unique typography, and bold iconography make the Unpublic brand super recognisable. Once its applied across the business, that repetition will make it impossible to forget. To achieve this, I initially provided designs and templates for Unpublic’s social media posts, YouTube thumbnails, stickers, and profile graphics.
I have since worked with Susan on extra brand applications such as website design, framework graphics, podcast artwork, and more.
